The wide push up is a variation on the classic push up with hands spread extra wide. This places more emphasis on the chest and less on the triceps.

Instructions

How to perform a Wide Push Up:

Position yourself on the floor, resting on your hands and toes. Your hands should be as wide as is comfortable, at least 6 inches wider than shoulder width. Your body should be in a straight line.

  • Bend your elbows, lowering your entire body towards the floor. Your body should be in a line, with your back straight.

  • Lower your body until your chest, chin and quads touch the ground at the same time.
