The twisting crunch is a variation on the classic crunch that places additional emphasis on the oblique muscles.

Instructions

How to perform a Twisting Crunch:

Lie flat on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor, as if performing a [crunch].
  • Lie flat on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor, as if performing a [crunch].

    Lie flat on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor, as if performing a crunch.

  • Lift your head and shoulders off the floor as you twist to one side of your body.

    Lift your head and shoulders off the floor as you twist to one side of your body.

  • Lower your head and shoulders back down so that you are in a straight line with your body again.
