Jumping rope is a complex movement that increases endurance and coordination while working most of the body's major muscle groups.

Instructions

How to perform a Jump Rope, Alternating Legs:

Stand with your feet approximately hip width apart and your arms down at your side, holding the jump rope behind you.
  • Stand with your feet approximately hip width apart and your arms down at your side, holding the jump rope behind you.

  • Lift one leg slightly off the ground, so that you are standing on one leg.

  • Rotate your wrist so that the jump rope comes over your head and body.

  • When the jump rope approaches your foot, jump high enough off of your standing foot to jump over the rope.

  • Land on the ground with the opposite foot of the one you jumped with.

  • Keep spinning the rope, jumping and alternating feet.
