Upright Row

The upright row is an isolation exercise that primarily targets the side shoulders. This exercise can be done a barbell, dumbbells, or a cable machine.

Instructions

How to perform a Upright Row:

Stand with your feet shoulder width apart grasping the weights down in front of you with an overhand grip.
  • Stand with your feet shoulder width apart grasping the weights down in front of you with an overhand grip.

    Stand with your feet shoulder width apart grasping the weights down in front of you with an overhand grip.

  • Pull the weights straight up towards your chin.

    Pull the weights straight up towards your chin.

  • Bring the weights up until they are almost at your shoulders.

    Bring the weights up until they are almost at your shoulders.

  • Lower the weights down slowly to <1/position 1>.

    Lower the weights down slowly to position 1.
