Sprinting is an anaerobic lower body exercise. Sprints help improve speed and anaerobic capacity. Sprinting can be mixed in with a run.

Instructions

How to perform a Sprint:

Keep your knees and arms slightly bent, the arms at a 90 degree angle at the waist.

  • Take long strides, aiming to travel a farther distance with each step than running or jogging.

  • Pump your arms vigorously in opposite directions, as one arm goes up to the side of the face, the other should be going down along your waist.

  • Push off the ground with the balls of your feet and continue your strides while pumping your arms and standing tall with head held up. You should be running as fast as you can when sprinting.
