Preacher Curl

This exercise works both biceps simultaneously. This exercise requires a preacher bench, which eliminates the use of any momentum your body may generate when doing curls.

Instructions

How to perform a Preacher Curl:

Sit on the preacher bench with the back of your upper arms on the pad.  Your armpits should rest near the top of the pad.
  • Sit on the preacher bench with the back of your upper arms on the pad.  Your armpits should rest near the top of the pad.

  • Grasp the bar in front of you in the palms of your hand with your arms approximately shoulder width apart.

  • Bend your arms at the elbow as you curl the weight up towards your shoulders, keeping your upper arms in contact with the pad at all times.

  • Lower the weight back down so that your arms are straight again as in <2/position 2>.
