The overhead squat is a weight training exercise that requires significant balance and core strength. It is also a portion of the Full Squat Snatch.

Instructions

How to perform a Overhead Squat:

Stand with your feet at least shoulder width apart or slightly wider, toes pointing outwards.

  • Hold the barbell above your head using a wide grip, keeping elbows locked. Your head should be forward of the bar.

  • Bend your knees and hips until your thighs are just past parallel to the floor. Keep your chest up and your back slightly arched.

  • Straighten your hips and legs so you are back in <2/position 2>.
