Hold a dumbbell in one hand so the dumbbell is resting in the palm of your hand. Let your arms hang at your sides.
Bend your arm at the elbow, bringing the dumbbell up towards your shoulder.
Stop the dumbbell an inch from your shoulder.
Lower the weight, so that you are back in position 1.
