The leg raise is abdominals isolation exercise that places a larger stress on the lower portion of your abs.

Instructions

How to perform a Leg Raise:

Lie flat on your back on the floor with your hands under your butt. Keep your head off the ground and your chin down. Keep your abs contracted throughout the exercise.
  • Lie flat on your back on the floor with your hands under your butt. Keep your head off the ground and your chin down. Keep your abs contracted throughout the exercise.

  • Lift your legs upwards, keeping them together and straight.

    Lift your legs upwards, keeping them together and straight.

  • Continue to lift your legs until they are over your hips.

  • Lower your legs back down in a slow and controlled manner.

    Lower your legs back down in a slow and controlled manner.

  • Continue to lower your legs until they are approximately an inch or two off the ground.
