Incline Bench Press

The incline bench press is a variation of the bench press, done on an inclined, rather than flat, bench. This places more emphasis on the upper chest and shoulders.

Instructions

How to perform a Incline Bench Press:

Lie on your back on the inclined bench with your feet flat on the floor.
  • Lie on your back on the inclined bench with your feet flat on the floor.

  • Grasp the barbell with an overhand grip so that you arms are shoulder width apart.

  • Bend your elbows as you lower the weight down until it is only an inch or so above your neck or upper chest.

  • Extend your arms back up, raising the weight straight in the air above your upper chest.

  • Lower the barbell back down to just above the chest as in <3/position 3>.
