Dip

The dip is a body weight exercise that develops strength and stability in the triceps and chest. This exercise requires a dip machine, parallel bars, or two other bars slightly wider than shoulder width apart.

Instructions

How to perform a Dip:

Grasp the dip bars with the palms of your hands facing your body.
  • Grasp the dip bars with the palms of your hands facing your body.

    Grasp the dip bars with the palms of your hands facing your body.

  • Raise your body up so that your arms are fully extended. Your legs should be bent at the knee behind you.

  • Bend your elbows out lowering your body down so that your chest is almost even with the dip bars.

  • Extend your arms fully once again to raise yourself back up to <2/position 2>.

    Extend your arms fully once again to raise yourself back up to position 2.
